TEHRAN -- A group of Quran reciters and memorizers visited Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on the first day of the holy month of Ramadan on Thursday.

A number of reciters and memorizers read verses from the Holy Quran in group and solo recitations during the three-hour meeting.

The meeting came to an end with a short speech by the Leader.

Ayatollah Khamenei praised the “the increasing advancement” of Iranian reciters and said, “A perfect recitation is a prelude to convey the concepts of the Holy Quran.”

“There is still a large potential to influence society with the Holy Quran and to influence the audience by Quran reciting, the reciter himself needs to believe the concepts of the verses he reads from the bottom of his heart,” he added.

The leader also advised the audience to avoid unconventional exclamations of admiration during Quran recitations.
