TEHRAN - A veteran politician says the nuclear issue goes beyond political affiliations and is not to be used by political parties or groups otherwise it will hurt the country.
It is a duty on political parties to fully back the negotiators and pay attention to national interests, Mohammad Nabi Habibi, secretary general of the Islamic Coalition Party, said.“If all parties use their capacities to make this national issue come true, and if the people, government, and Majlis cooperate, we can handle the country even if the talks fail and a nuclear deal is not reached,” he stated, Mehr reported on Wednesday.
Commenting on the progress of the nuclear talks, he said that the Iranian nuclear negotiations team has so far performed well.
“They have observed the red lines. I believe that if the negotiators continue on the current track, they will be a successful team.”
