Spanish festival honors Iranian choirs

TEHRAN – Iranian choirs Parseh and Avaye Mahan have won awards at the Canta Al Mar International Choir Festival, which was held in the Spanish city of Barcelona from October 21 to 25.
In the Folklore Category, Parse Choir Group under the baton of maestro Tayyeb Faqih was presented with the Diploma of Silver III, and Avaye Mahan led by conductor Nima Fatehi received the Diploma of Bronze X.

Avaye Mahan also won the Diploma of Silver I in the category of Chamber Choirs of Mixed Voices.

A jury composed of Oscar Boada, Javier Busto and Alber Deprius from Spain, Rosalind Hall from the U.S. and Christophe Mc Carty from the Netherlands assessed performances by numerous groups from around the world.


Iranian deputy culture minister visits Expo Milano

TEHRAN – Deputy Culture Minister for Artistic Affairs Ali Moradkhani arrived in Italy on Thursday to visit Iran’s stand at the Expo Milano.

Iran has organized a chain of various exhibitions, meetings, workshops and artistic performances to present its rich Iranian-Islamic traditions, arts and culture at the six-month event, which will come to an end today.


Iranian video gamers competing in ESWC

TEHRAN – A team of top Iranian video gamers composed of Kiarash Shokuhi, Mehrdad Kompani and Navid Borhani are currently in Paris to participate in the Electronic Sports World Cup (ESWC), which opened on October 28.

Since 2011, the ESWC has entertained the audience of the Paris Games Week with 5 days of shows staged in front of more than 200,000 visitors and an Internet audience of million.
