TEHRAN – Iranian Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani issued a message to the Libyan nation on Saturday congratulating the Libyan people on their victory over the regime of Muammar Gaddafi and advising the Libyan people to stand their ground and safeguard the revolution.  

Larijani said, “The victory of the revolution of the Muslim and resistant people of Libya, which came to full fruition with the death of the criminal dictator of the country, once again indicated that the demands and will of the people cannot be suppressed,” and the grim fate that former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, former Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak, and former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi experienced is awaiting all dictators who have turned their back on their people and Islam.  

  

What is unfolding in Libya is a wake-up call to all dictators who have pinned their hopes on the support of certain Western countries and have been plundering their countries’ resources and clinging to power, he added. 

The Muslim people of Libya should not think that the job is over, Larijani stated, adding that the Libyan people should hold their ground and continue their resistance until a democratic government is established in the country and the hands of those seeking to exploit the country’s reserves are cut off.
