TEHRAN – The Iranian interior minister has expressed concern over an increase in the number of refugees and called on the international community to boost cooperation to resolve the crisis.

Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli raised the point while addressing a high-level meeting to address large movements of refugees and migrants at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Monday, Tasnim reported.

The Iranian minister highlighted the root causes of the massive influx of refugees as foreign intervention, occupation, and terrorism.
