TEHRAN – Ayatollah Nasrollah Shahabadi passed away in Baqiyatallah Hospital in Tehran on Monday at the age of 86, IRIB news reported.

Ayatollah Shahabadi was a member of the Assembly of Experts, who was elected from Tehran in 2016 with 1,445,142 votes.

He was son of grand Shia cleric Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Shahabadi, Imam Khomeini’s teacher.

Ayatollah Shahabadi taught religion at Qom seminary.
