Iranian Chess Players Beat Three Challengers in Intl. Event

TEHRAN Iranian students participating at World Students Chess Championship in Varna, Bulgaria, had three victories and one defeat on the third day of the event, announced the Islamic Azad University Physical Education Department here.
Sonia Mohammadi and Shirin Navvabi beat their challengers from Bulgaria and Brazil respectively.
In the men's contests, Hossein Abbassifar was defeated by a Danish chess player but Amir Baqeri managed to win over his challenger from the host country.
In the men's section of the event, 4 grand masters, 6 international masters, 7 masters of International Chess Federation (ICF) and in women's section, one grand master, 2 international masters and 2 ICF masters are participating.
