Public tip-offs aid arrest of 3,000+ in terror network crackdown
Intelligence operations continue to surge days after short but deadly riots backed by US and Israel
TEHRAN – Extensive intelligence operations have so far resulted in the detention of over 3,000 individuals, including armed terrorists responsible for killings, criminal gangs, youth instigating vandalism, and key figures linking them all to foreign spy agencies and incentivizing participation in the deadly riots that struck Iran on January 8 and 9.
The riots followed days of peaceful demonstrations by businesspeople over the country’s deteriorating economic woes, a situation directly resulting from years of Western sanctions. Several Israeli and American officials and organizations urged the protesters to pivot toward toppling the Iranian government just one day after the protests began in late December, promising them that “Mossad agents” were “on the ground to help,” and that their reward would be “freedom” and “prosperity.”
As initial protesters entered talks with the government and demonstrations became sporadic, the foreign agents entered the scene, instigating unprecedented violence last weekend where masked individuals killed both civilians and security forces by shooting, stabbing, burning, or strangling them. Immense damage was also inflicted across Iranian cities: government buildings, banks, homes, private businesses, mosques, traditional mourning places, historic sites, buses, cars, and metro stations were set ablaze using Molotov cocktails. Western media outlets have failed to differentiate between the general protesters, who are now effectively sidelined, and the armed, violent elements that exploited their demonstrations.
The arrests of over 3,000 of the involved individuals were facilitated by public cooperation, as intelligence forces have received at least 400,000 reports regarding the unrest. Authorities affirm that the remaining terrorists and agents are currently in hiding, and intelligence and military bodies are concentrating substantial efforts on apprehending them in the coming days.
Among the most significant arrests was a highly trained female operative, identified as Raha Parham (real name: Nazanin Baradaran), who served as the right-hand woman to Bijan Kian, a key figure among Western-based monarchist factions, and who had been trained by the U.S. and Israel. The detained operative herself was guided by former Pentagon officer Adam Levinnger and was a central link connecting organized terrorists to foreign spy agencies, according to a report by the IRIB.
Beyond high-level operatives, operations across various provinces have targeted field elements, such as the dismantling of a dangerous armed terrorist cell trained by the Mossad in the capital, whose members were tasked with mass killings using weaponry like Kalashnikovs and satellite communication gear provided to them.
In Fars province alone, 154 main ringleaders were apprehended for directing violence and attempting to push protests toward armed conflict, including one key leader actively transmitting sensitive information on military and judicial figures to foreign intelligence in exchange for cash.
In Kerman, a seven-person cell was arrested for coordinating with the Iran International and Manoto networks, while a separate group linked to the monarchist faction was seized with a Kalashnikov rifle.
Other arrests include a terrorist cell linked to the Komala separatist group in Khorramabad and the manager of a factory near Tehran who organized and incited workers to commit sabotage, resulting in the discovery of 60 bottles containing incendiary materials on the premises.
According to remarks by Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, there were set financial rates for different acts of violence, such as 500 million Tomans for killing a person, highlighting the organized, financially motivated nature of the destruction that marred cities across Iran.
Despite the extensive planning and logistical support by the Mossad and CIA, riots lasted only two to three days. They were met with immense condemnation from the Iranian people, millions of whom took to the streets nationwide on Monday to denounce the death and destruction.
American and Israeli officials continued to galvanize the rioters and terrorists until recently, with U.S. President Donald Trump promising on at least three separate occasions to attack Iran to aid them, at one point openly encouraging terrorism by urging the rioters to attack government buildings and “take over your institutions.”
