TEHRAN -- A painting exhibition of Iranian women known as Dena Group opened at the United Nations office in Geneva.

Some 47 paintings by Iranian female artists have been on display in the exhibition set up jointly by the United Nations and the Visual Arts Organization.

Dena Group comprises 12 Iranian female painters whose works are mostly related to Iranian typical issues and women's affairs.

The exhibit has been set up following a decision taken by the Tehran-based museum of contemporary arts to form independent artistic groups with an aim of introducing Iranian arts at regional and international levels.

The painting exhibition will run until 30 July.
