NEW DELHI -- If you think everybody's heart sits pretty on the left side of their chest, a newborn in Shimla in the northern Indian State of Himachal Pradesh will set your perceptions right.

The infant in this northern Indian hill station has his heart on the right side, reported Indo-Asian News Service (IANS) on Friday.

Doctors at the Lady Reading Hospital in Shimla said the baby, born monday to 27-year-old Asha Devi, hails from the nearby hill station of Chail, IRNA reported.

Doctors said although the newborn is normal and healthy, they have shifted him to state's premier hospital, for better care and study.

Only about two to three people among 100,000 are born with their hearts on the right side of their chest, said a doctor.

All the other organs that are usually on the left are also on the right side.
