TEHRAN -- Iran enjoys special position in the cultural management of the world of Islam, said the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ahmad Masjed-Jamei.

Pointing to his portfolio's one-year performance, he added that Seminar of the Islamic Countries' Artists which is due to be held in Isfahan for the first time, shows serious attention of Iran to the cultural activities of Islamic states.

The language of culture has turned into a new language of politics and the countries try to influence other countries and achieve their goals through their cultural activities, he said.

He termed the ministry's artistic and cultural activities as satisfactory, adding that it does its best to organize social plans that help the country promote cultural activities.

"Holding the exhibition of '7,000 Years of Iranian Art' in different countries as well as preparing the ground to hold 'Iranian Art Year' ceremony in France and holding other cultural exhibitions and festivals in different countries reveal the due heed paid by the ministry to introduce Iranian and Islamic cultural features to the world", Masjed-Jamei added.

Making use of the domestic potentials and introducing local and original art and culture to the world are among the main cultural activities of the ministry, he pointed out.

"With the help of modern technology and combining it with local and traditional values, we can deliver our message to the world," he continued.
