Iran’s Football Father Laid to Rest

TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) – Body of Iran’s football father, Hossein Fekri, 80, was buried in Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery, southern Tehran, during a funeral procession started in Shahid Shiroudi Stadium Friday. During his career, Fakri captained national team and coached Persepolis, Shahin, Tractor Sazi, Machine Sazi, and Abu Moslem. He helped Iran make debut in 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan. Fakri was the first head of Iran’s Physical Education Organization.
