“Deep Breath”, Iranian Film for Oscar

TEHRAN (Mehr News Agency) –- Feature-length “Deep Breath” directed by Parviz Shahbazi is the selected Iranian film submitted to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

According to the Public Relations Office of Farabi Cinema Foundation, in a committee of 6 members of the House of Cinema, including Amir Esbati, Farhad Tohidi, Fereydoon Jeyrani, Abolhassan Davoudi, Bahram Dehghani and Manouchehr Shahsavari, the film was nominated for Oscar.

Produced by Amir Samavati in Behnegar Institute, the film participated in the 21st Fajr International Festival.

The film narrates the story of two friends Kamran and Mansour who lead an aimless life together, and meet a young girl named Aida. Aida, a college dropout, goes on a journey with Mansour to the north of Iran.

Shahbazi has so far directed the movies “Passenger of South” (1996) and “Murmur” (1999).
