Iran planning to apply GTL technology in Assaluyeh
Iranian experts now possess the technical mastery of pilot production of one barrel of the liquids per day through the GTL technology, noted Iraj Tahmasian, chairman of the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO) of Iran.
However, he added, they are taking the preliminary steps aimed at the production of 10,000 barrels per day (bpd) of the liquid products through the GTL technology in Assaluyeh region, the Persian service of Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA) reported on Tuesday.
Referring to the infrastructures required for the implementation of the project in the region he explained, Qatar has secured large contracts with the giant oil company Shell to develop GTL projects in the gas fields jointly owned by the Persian Gulf state and Iran.
Being five percent complete, the project will be developed by the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) in this southern Iran’s oil and gas-rich region.
