TEHRAN -- A cultural village is to open at the Bahman Cultural Center in southern Tehran Monday on the occasion of Be’that -- the day Prophet Muhammad (S) was appointed to his prophetic mission.

Tehran Mayor Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf and head of Tehran Municipality’s Art and Culture Organization will attend the event.

Documentaries on Lebanon, Palestine touring Iran

TEHRAN -- Tehran’s Experimental and Documentary Film Center (EDFC) is organizing the screening of some documentaries on Lebanon and Palestine periodically in several Iranian cities.

Films, including “Lebanon: the Land of War and Peace” directed by Shahram Heidarian, “Qana” by Mohammadreza Abbasian, “Children of Fire” by Mai Masri and “Jenin, Jenin” produced by Mohammed Bakri were first shown in Tuyserkan, a city in the western Iranian province of Hamedan on Saturday.

Espoo Ciné filmfest to show Iran’s “Hayat”

TEHRAN -- Iranian director Gholamreza Ramezani’s ‘Hayat” will be screened at the 17th Espoo Ciné International Film Festival which is to open on Aug. 22 in Finland.

The festival will run until Aug. 27.

Iran organizing intl. contest to construct memorial for Qana martyrs

TEHRAN -- Iran’s Foundation for the Preservation and Publication of Sacred Defense Works and Values has invited the people of the world to participate in a design and construction competition entitled “The Memorial for the Innocent Martyrs of Qana”.

According to the foundation, the details will be announced later.
