Iranian actress awarded at Eurasia filmfest
Mostofi received the award for her role in Ensieh Shah-Hosseini’s “Good Night, Commander”.
The film, which is based on Shah-Hosseini’s memories of the Tariq-ul-Qods Operations (1982) launched in the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, tells the story of an Iranian woman who is dispatched to the warfront to report the latest developments in the battle.
“The festival has united the Asian and European filmmakers,” Shah-Hosseini said at the closing gala.
The festival also featured a retrospective of films by celebrated Iranian filmmaker Mohsen Makhmalbaf, his wife Marzieh Meshkini, and his daughter Samira Makhmalbaf.
Various countries, including Iran, Germany, Russia, China, India, Japan, and France participated at the event organized by Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, Kazakhfilm Company, and Kazakh Unity of Cinematographers.
