TEHRAN -- Ankara-based Iranian author and translator Hashem Khosroshahi is rendering several works of contemporary Iranian littérateurs into Turkish.

“The translations of Reza Baraheni’s ‘Miss Azadeh’ and Simin Daneshvar’s ‘Savushun’ are being completed and the books will soon be published in Turkey,” Khosroshahi told the Persian service of ISNA on Saturday.

He previously translated “I Am Afraid of Your Eyes” (authored by Farkhondeh Hajizadeh), “Addressing Butterflies” (Reza Baraheni), “Dark Hand, Bright Hand” (Hushang Golshiri), “Cell 18” (Ali-Ashraf Darvishian), “The Hidden Role” (Mohammad Mohammad-Ali), “Once again the City I Loved” (Nader Ebrahimi).

Khosroshahi has also published a Turkish anthology entitled “Open the Door, Neighbor”, which comprises 33 works by several Iranian poets. He was the secretary of a seminar with same name held by a number of Iranian poets and authors in Ankara and Istanbul in early October.

He has finished the translation of “Womanly Voice of 80 Iranian Poets”, an anthology of contemporary Iranian poets’ works on women and plans to begin translating Sadeq Chubak’s “The Patient Stone” and Gholam-Hossein Saedi’s “Mourners of Bayal” in the near future.

Khosroshahi has also written two novels in Turkish, “Azalia” and “Who Dies Tonight?”.
