TEHRAN -- Iranian miniaturist Alireza Jadidi opened an art gallery after his name in Giresun city on the Black Sea coast of Turkey on Friday.

The Turkey-based Iranian Cultural Attaché Farhad Palizdar, Iranian Consul General in Trabzon Mehdi Marzban, and scores of Turkish artists and cultural, and political figures attended the opening ceremony.

Jadidi aims to introduce Iranian art and promote the relations between Iranian and Turkish artists.

The miniaturist, who is also a surgeon, thanked the officials of the two countries for their contribution to the project.

“I did the job with love for art specially my homeland’s art and I hope that the gallery will be frequented by Iranian artists, introducing their works to Turkish art lovers,” he said.

Palizdar also appreciated Jadidi’s efforts to present Iranian art and culture to the neighboring Turkey, calling the event a new chapter in bilateral cultural ties.
