Ahmadinejad congratulates Lebanon over 33 day war anniversary

TEHRAN (ISNA) - Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad in a message to the Lebanese President Emile Lahoud congratulated the Lebanese nation over the anniversary of the last summer 33-day war.

""Without doubt the victory of the Lebanese nation against their foe, the Zionist regime, is a golden page in the world's contemporary history, which possesses an inspiration for all who are after freedom.""
Ahmadinejad added that Lebanon's stability, security, and integrity was what the Islamic Republic of Iran truly followed.
Also in another message to the Hezbollah Secretary General, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, he asserted that this victory illustrated the path of the righteous and the victory of Believers.
""The magnificent victory of the Lebanese nation over the Zionist regime, which has brought valuable lessons, was the result of faith, unity, and resistance.""
He stressed that world powers should not tie the destiny of their nations to the faith and future of this regime.
""Powers, which support the Zionists, should open their eyes and see the true face of this regime.""
He went on to explain, ""During the 33-day imposed war, some members of the UN Security Council left the hands of this regime open to all crimes and animosities it could carry out.""
""These powers placed no effort in ending this war through a resolution until they became sure that extending the war would further weaken the Zionist regime; these powers behavior once again proved their ineligibility,"" Ahmadinejad asserted
