DAMASCUS (IRNA) -- Syria's Ath-Thawra daily on Monday praised Iran's continued cooperation with the UN nuclear watchdog and criticized the U.S. provocative and anti-Iran policies.
""Iran has for long had very positive cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency, allowing its inspectors to visit the country’s nuclear facilities. A group of the Agency inspectors too are due in the country today to visit its Arak heavy water facilities,"" read an article published by Ath-Thawra on Monday. It said despite Iran's extensive cooperation with IAEA, the Bush administration is still pursuing its anti-Iran policies and is to offer a report to the Congress on September 15th calling for more severe sanctions against Tehran to subject the country to more pressures and threats and to cover up Washington's past defeats in Iraq.
It added that despite repeated failures of many American officials, the U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney is making efforts to arrange attacks on Iran. ""It seems they have not taken any lessons from Iraq,"" it said
