Gilan Implements Hundreds of Agricultural Projects

TEHRAN Following economic policies of the government aimed at boosting livestock and agricultural products, Bank Keshavarzi of Gilan Province by awarding credits worth 185 billion rial during the last Iranian year, has implemented hundreds of agricultural projects in the region. According to the Public Relations Office of Bank Keshavarzi, worth more than 82 billion rials were allocated for the development of horticulture, animal husbandry, poultry farms, silk worms and promotion of agriculture-related industries, handicrafts and agricultural and infrastructural projects.
The bank has also awarded another 102 billion rials to qualified applicants for projects concerning water and soil and a floating capital necessary for agriculture and animal husbandry, agricultural renovation and compressed irrigation. The bank has also provided insurance coverage for 29.2 thousand hectares of lands under cultivation of wheat, rice and barley and thousands of livestocks and birds in Gilan. It also paid 836 million rials indemnity to the sufferers.
According to the report, by executing the plan of Hazrat Zeinab Kobra (S), 785 million rials was paid to vulnerable rural women as loans for implementation of productive projects.
