TEHRAN -- The Astan-e Qods Razavi Organization for Libraries, Museums and Archives Centers and the International Council of Museums (ICOM) in a collaborative effort propose to open a cyber-museum.

The organization director Ali-Mohammad Baradaran announced the plans on Monday during a meeting attended by museum donators from England, Switzerland, Uganda, and Kuwait, who had traveled to Mashhad.
“At present, we are designing the galleries of the cyber-museum, which will be accessible through ICOM’s website,” he explained.
Baradaran gave no exact date for the launching of the new venture.
“The World’s Muslims have a deep affection for Imam Reza (AS) and thus the Asten-e Qods Museum receives donations from all over the world,” he said.
The Astan-e Qods central library and museum are two of a number of buildings adjacent to the shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad, located in Iran’s northeastern Khorasan Razavi Province.
The organization is currently expanding the museum area in order to provide an appropriate environment for displaying items that have been donated to the museum from around the world, Baradaran noted.
The museum comprises various sections and amongst the great number of invaluable artifacts on display are manuscripts of the Holy Quran, rare historical books, carpets, coins, pottery works and guns
