Iran’s trade cooperation with ASEAN members up 34%

TEHRAN – Iran’s trade volume with member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2006 soared about 34 percent to 1.736 billion dollars compared to its preceding year, said the director general of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) Asia-Pacific Department here on Wednesday.
Parviz Rezaii made the statement in a joint session with Iran’s Ministry of Commerce authorities.He added the meeting aimed to discuss exports to South Asian countries and identify potentials for exchanging products and technical and engineering services with the Asian and Pacific nations in line with the policies of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC).
