MOSCOW (IRNA) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexei Borodavkin said on Thursday that Russia will never change its stance on Iran’s nuclear program.

In a meeting with Iran’s ambassador to the country, Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi, he added that Russian leaders have always defended Iran’s rights to gain access to peaceful nuclear energy and stressed its non-military nature.
They favor diplomatic approaches to solve the issue, he added.
“Moscow is also opposed to any pressure, force and sanctions on Iran,” Borodavkin noted.
Sajjadi and the Russian official discussed the prospects of cooperation and broadening of bilateral ties.
Promoting collaboration in the economic field was also discussed during the meeting.
They further talked about the establishment of a Russian cultural center in Tehran and expressed interest in developing cooperation in the field of tourism.
Borodavkin also expressed condolence to the Iranian side on the tragic air crash.
