TEHRAN- Ali Daei resigned as Persepolis coach after the Tehran-based team suffered a heavy loss against Saba in the Iran Professional League (IPL) on Sunday.

In the wake of disappointing results in the IPL, Daei stepped down as coach of Iran’s most popular team.
Persepolis lost to Saba 4-1 at Tehran’s Azadi Stadium. It was Persepolis’ fifth successive loss.
