Iran’s largest rockfield arch dam to be watered

TEHRAN –- The reservoir of Agh Chay Dam in West Azarbaijan Province, Iran’s largest rockfield arch dam, will be filled with water today.
IRINN reported that the capacity of the reservoir of the dam is 197 million cubic meters.Operations for building the dam started eight years ago and the cost of it has reached 1.4 trillion rials ($135 million). When the dam comes on stream 700,000 hectares of land in West Azarbaijan Province will be covered with modern irrigation systems
