Robben: Bayern need two or three new players for next season

Arjen Robben has said that Bayern Munich need ""two or three"" new players if they are to regain their place at the pinnacle of German football and stand a chance of progression to the latter stages of the Champions League.
The 27-year-old winger has called for investment in the playing squad in the summer, telling Bild: ""The current season has shown us that we could do[with] two or three good reinforcements.""
Despite the Bavarians still not assured of a place in the Champions League next season, the Netherlands international has identified the competition as one he hopes the German club can make strides in.
""We want to attack next season in the Champions League. If there are players that can step up to FC Bayern, one must always try to get them. I do not mean the places 12 to 18 in the squad, but for the first team,"" he concluded.
The statement is the first time that anyone from Bayern's playing staff has requested summer spending, and is sure to raise a few eyebrows.
Robben's side are currently fourth in the Bundesliga, one point and one place behind Hannover, who currently possess the third Champions League qualifying place with three games remaining.
