Sony Pictures to produce “Tehranis”

TEHRAN -- The Sony Pictures Entertainment plans to produce “Tehranis”, a comedy which will be directed by Iranian filmmaker Kamshad Kushan.
The film is about an Iranian family that has left Tehran to live in Los Angeles, Kushan told the Persian service of the Fars News Agency.It narrates the paradoxes an Iranian family faces during their sojourn in the United States, he said.
The plot of the film written in Persian and English has already been confirmed by Sony Pictures, however, as yet the film script has not, but should be approved as well, he added.
Iranian-born film director, screenwriter and film producer, Kushan, immigrated to the United States at the age of sixteen. He has directed full length plays in various San Francisco venues and has written and published many short stories, among them, “Moonlit Garden”, a collection of short stories published by Raha Press.
He has taught at the Graduate Motion Picture & Video department of Academy of Art University in San Francisco for four years. “Surviving Paradise” is his feature debut and the first American film by an Iranian-American filmmaker to be distributed in North America.
