TEHRAN -- “Fall Is the Last Season” by Nasim Marashi and “The Well-Behaved Girl” by Shahriar Abbasi shared the Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Award in the novel section, the organizer announced Saturday during a ceremony at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.

No works in the categories of short story, literary criticism, or documentation were deemed worthy of Iran’s most lucrative literary award during this year’s edition of the Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Awards.

In these categories, some works won honorable mentions.

“Imaginative World” by Abolfazl Horri and “Overview of Practical Anecdotes” by Ali Abbasi received honorable mentions in the literary criticism section.

In the short story category, “Are Guys from Khazaneh Saved?” by Mehdi Asadzadeh and “Guard of Darkness” by Majid Qeisari won honorable mentions.

The honorable mentions in the documentation section were presented to “Water Never Dies” by Hamid Hesam and “You Will Die in Cairo” by Hamidreza Sadr.

In past editions of the event, each winner of the award received 110 Bahar Azadi gold coins (worth over $33,000). However, the Ministry of the Culture and Islamic Guidance, which is the main organizer of the awards, reduced the number of the gold coins to 30.
