Mangalore refinery: no cut in Iran crude imports next fiscal year

April 7, 2012 - 15:11
NEW DELHI –  Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd.   doesn't expect any major cut in its crude-oil imports from Iran in the next financial year beginning April 1, Chairman Sudhir Vasudeva told reporters on the sidelines of an industry conference Wednesday.

MRPL, which runs a 11.8-million-ton refinery in Mangalore in the southern state of Karnataka, imports about 60% of its crude needs from Iran.

However, MRPL plans to expand its annual capacity to 15 million tons and Iran's contribution to its total crude imports may decline, Vasudeva said.
