Non-native learners of Persian language to refresh skills in Tehran

The Tehran-based Sadi Foundation that promotes Persian language overseas will start its 83rd Persian Language and Literature Refresher Course on Thursday for a select group of 200 Persian literature aficionados from around the globe.

TEHRAN – The Tehran-based Sadi Foundation that promotes Persian language overseas will start its 83rd Persian Language and Literature Refresher Course on Thursday for a select group of 200 Persian literature aficionados from around the globe. 

Sadi Foundation Director Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel along with his panel of experts elaborated on the timeline and long-term aims that the extensive course pursues during a press conference yesterday at the foundation. 

Haddad-Adel, who is also the director of the Academy of Persian Language and Literature, also viewed the event as a great opportunity for the non-native Persian learners to become more closely familiarized with genuine Iranian history, culture and traditions. 

Sightseeing in the cities of Tehran and Isfahan have also been arranged for the learners during their stay in Iran.

200 individuals, 110 of whom are females, have been selected out of 514 applicants from 41 countries for the one-month course that will be held at Allameh Tabatabai University in Tehran.

The invitees who are mostly students of the Persian language and Oriental studies are from France, Argentina, Pakistan, India, the U.S., Tajikistan, the UK, Poland, Tunisia, China, Germany, Australia and several other countries.

“Hi Persian”, “Enjoy Reading”, “Persian Vocabulary in Use” and “Iranology” are the book titles selected to be taught during the course, which will conclude with a one-day workshop on Persian calligraphy.

The 83rd Persian Language and Literature Refresher Course will be held in collaboration with Allameh Tabatabai University and under the auspices of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organizations (ICRO).
