TEHRAN – Thousands of Iranian social media activists showed their protest at the BBC role in the 1953 coup against the democratically elected government of Prime Minister Mohammad Mosaddeq in favor of the monarchical rule of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.

The Iranians started trending #BBCکودتای (coup) and tens of thousands of tweets pursued in a matter of few hours, Fars reported on Saturday.
