TEHRAN – The chief of Tehran Justice Department on Monday denied claims by Iranian-Canadian academic Homa Hoodfar that she was tortured while in prison in Tehran.

Hoodfar’s claims are a “sheer lie” and “made as a result of animosity and hatred toward the Islamic Republic”, Gholam Hossein Esmaeili told IRNA

Refuting her claims of musical torture, he said the facilities for playing music and sounds are very limited in Iranian prisons and they are used just for giving information.
