Monir Farmanfarmaian donates collection to University of Tehran

TEHRAN – Artist Monir Farmanfarmaian, famous for her mirror mosaics and geometric drawings, has donated a collection of 50 artworks to the University of Tehran.

The collection will be placed in a special section at the Negarestan Garden Museum of the University of Tehran and will be open for viewing beginning in mid-December, UT Deputy Director for Cultural Affairs Majid Sarsangi said in a press conference on Tuesday.

He said that the 93-year-old artist is scheduled to attend an opening ceremony for the section.

Farmanfarmaian’s work has been collected by institutions around the world such the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Tate Modern in London and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
