TEHRAN – An impeachment motion against Agriculture Minister Mahmoud Hojjati has been received by the parliament’s presiding board, an MP said on Sunday.

Ali Asqar Yousef-Nezhad said according to article 223 of the Majlis, Hojjati must attend the parliament to present his explanations within 10 days, ISNA reported.

Failure to enforce the law to ensure the purchase of basic agricultural products and prohibiting export of surplus agricultural products as well as failure to implement the rules of the sixth development plan and the annual budget in agriculture sector have been cited among the reasons to impeach Hojjati.
