Caspian Sea foreign ministers to meet in Moscow

TEHRAN – In a diplomatic gathering of significance, the foreign ministers of the Caspian Sea littoral states are to convene in Moscow for their annual meeting on December 5.

The Caspian littoral states are Iran, Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan.

During an interview with the Iranian media, Iran’s ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali stated that this session is a part of the annual program involving the five foreign ministers of the Caspian littoral states. At this session, the participants will address the most crucial issues related to this expansive aquatic region. 

Emphasizing the Moscow meeting, Jalali highlighted the examination of collaborative development in various fields, including Caspian regional security, the expansion of economic relations, maritime transportation, trade, energy, environment, and relevant legal matters.

Jalali pointed out that it is anticipated that Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, besides participating in the meeting, will engage in bilateral discussions with the foreign ministers of Russia, Kazakhstan, and the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to him, these meetings offer an excellent opportunity to discuss and review significant regional developments during bilateral sessions.
