International crowds condemn US-Israeli interference in Iran

TEHRAN — From the bustling markets of Baghdad to the heart of Latin America’s economic capital, a wave of global solidarity has gathered momentum in support of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As the smoke clears from a brief period of foreign-backed unrest inside the country, some voices in the international community have responded with a resounding rejection of what Tehran has described as Washington’s ISIS-style attempts to destabilize the nation.

In a landmark event described as a turning point for the Americas, hundreds of Brazilian activists, leftist parties, and social movements converged on São Paulo’s iconic Paulista Avenue on Friday.

According to a report by the Mehr news agency, this “storm of solidarity” saw the Iranian flag and portraits of martyr Gen. Qasem Soleimani raised high above the crowd, shattering the silence of mainstream Western media.

Protesters chanted slogans in support of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. They also remembered Gen. Soleimani, while speakers hailed Iran as the premier model of resistance for all oppressed nations fighting global arrogance.

This sentiment was mirrored across Asia, where Baghdad’s Palestine Street saw thousands gather for a second consecutive day to denounce U.S. belligerence on Saturday.

Similar scenes of defiance unfolded in Mosul, Najaf, and throughout the Kashmir Valley, where thousands of men and women marched after Friday prayers to voice their unbreakable bond with the Iranian people.

These demonstrations provide a sharp contrast to the short-lived, violent riots and terror attacks that targeted Iranian cities on Dec. 28, 2025, and reached their peak on January 8 to 10, 2026.

While U.S. and Israeli officials openly boasted of having “agents on the ground” to exploit economic grievances, the swift restoration of order—culminating in Monday’s massive rallies by millions of Iranians—has left the Trump administration’s strategy in tatters.
