PAPEETE -- A Hawaiian Airlines DC-10 Papeete-Honolulu flight crashed on takeoff at Tahiti's Faaa Airport and rolled into a lagoon late Sunday, according to the French high commission here. There were no injuries, the high commission said as carried by AFP. Strong winds and heavy rains that have battered Tahiti for four days may have caused the accident, it added. There were no immediate details of the number of passengers on board.
