How Did Kung Fu Appear?

Since Bagua martial style has been based on Yei-Ching philosophy, if a trainee learns the style without having enough knowledge about its philosophy and principles, he knows just how to punch and move and in other words he is unaware of the essence of this particular style.

The theory on unity between man and nature and its regulations have had a great influence on the martial art kung fu through the classical philosophy of China. Since most of the kung fu masters were the learned and intellectual figures of those days, they intermingled their philosophical views and Weltanschauung with the martial arts such as kung fu, Daoist, Confucian, and Buddhist styles.

The kung fu's inspiration has come from nature, which is considered as a unique features of this type of martial art. Following the natural patterns can be functional in case it is based upon human being's understanding of the Mother Nature.

If accompanied by creativity, imitation can be a powerful factor for developing one's abilities. Hua-Tua, the well-known Chinese scholar founded the techniques of kung fu on the basis of movements of five animals: Tiger, bear, monkey, reindeer and birds.
