Auto Company Produces 200,000 Cars

TEHRAN -- More than 200,000 cars have been produced at Iran Khodro Auto Manufacturing Company from March 21, 2001 to February 13, 2002.

Public Relations Department at Iran Khodro said 11,311 Peugeot-206 and 1,000 Samand Cars have been produced this year.

Based on the report, 6,690 Pars, 20,522 Peugeot GLX, 111,275 Paykan and 29,139 Peugeot RD as well as 20,174 Paykan vans were produced at the company in the said period.

The report said increases of 38.5 percent was observed in production of Pars Cars, 59.5 percent in Peugeot GLX cars, 11 percent in Paykan cars, 26.5 percent in Peugeot RD cars and 38.5 percent in the Paykan vans in the said period compared to similar period the year before.

Iran Khodro plans to raise its production to more than 400,000 a year in the next three years.
