Laft Port is located on northern Qeshm and has a population of about 3,400.

The people of Laft speak in the Jazirati dialect, a local dialect of Persian which contains Arabic, Hindi, and English words as well as words from African languages.

Laft people speak Persian well and the older people and sailors understand Arabic and Hindi.

The residents of Laft have special celebrations on religious holidays such as Eid-ul-Adha, Eid-ul-Fetr, and the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (S). They play traditional local musical instruments called Azva' and Shovari. Spiritual celebrations have a special place in their culture.

Laft is a place of cultural exchanges because of its location.

The hundreds of beautiful buildings, wind towers, and old engraved wooden doors along with the azure sea and clear sky attract people to the region.

Laft's historic reservoir is one of the largest stone reservoirs in Iran. The wells of gold of Laft are among its magical places. It consists of 366 wells, one for every day of the year including leap years. Because of the shortage of fresh water on Qeshm Island, they say it is as precious as gold.

Some believe that the Kharbas caves, which connect Laft to Hormoz Island, were dug by the Portuguese.

Qeshm Island is one of the largest independent islands in the world. It is a magical island.
