Iran, Kenya Stress Further Expansion of Bilateral Parliamentary Ties

TEHRAN -- Majlis Speaker, Mahdi Karrubi, here on Friday described Kenyan National Assembly Speaker Francis Xavier Ole Kaparo's visit to Iran as a "turning point" in the two countries' relations. Karrubi told IRNA at the airport to welcome the Kenyan speaker that Iran has relations with Kenya in the parliamentary, economic, political, and cultural fields as well as on the international level and the visit would be effective in expansion of the ties. He said the Kenyan official had already visited Iran in the capacity of industries minister and has had influential role in two-way ties. Kaparo and Karrubi stressed further expansion of Iran-Kenya parliamentary relations. Kaparo said he has come to Iran to meet with Iranian officials and further consolidate the bilateral ties. He expressed hope that he would have good and very fruitful talks with Iranian officials.
