'Parvin E'tesami' Documentary to Be Made in Tabriz

TEHRAN - Making a documentary film about the contemporary Iranian poet Parvin E'tesami was begun on Saturday in Tabriz.

The director of the film Ramin Meshkin Moqaddam said that the film is being made with the cooperation of Sahar world channel and East Azarbaijan Governor General.

He added that this film is being made to introduce the character of the poet, as one of the luminaries of Persian art and literature and a complete series of her poems will also be presented.

In addition to the local actors, some 30 people are cooperating as the principal elements of the film.

In the opening ceremony of making the film which was held in Tabriz Iranology Foundation, the Tabriz MP Asghar She'rdoust said that Azarbaijan and Tabriz are full of lasting cultural and literary figures.

He continued that Azarbaijan and Azari people have always had important roles in protecting Shiism in Iran.

Moreover, he expressed his satisfaction over the attention of the East Azarbaijan governor to the cultural issues.

She'rdoust hoped that with making the documentary of E'tesami, the ground would be paved for staring to make the film about another Azari poet master Shahriyar.

Meanwhile, the Deputy of East Azarbaijan Governor General in political affairs Karim Abedi who had also attended the opening ceremony mentioned that in the poems of Parvin E'tesami, self-respect, freedom of thought and manner can be seen.

He also added that no woman poet has so far wept tears this much over humanity and this fact should be reflected in her film.

Parvin E'tesami was born in March 16, 1906 in Tabriz and passed away in March 23, 1941.
