KASHAN, Isfahan Province -- Secretary to Kashan Astronomical Institute Mohammad-Javad Abedi said, Kashan is one of the world's six cities renowned for astronomical observation of the skies, IRNA said.

He told a one-day Conference on Introduction to Astronomy that desert climate and absence of strong lights make the city's sky quite suitable for observing stars.

Abedi also referred to Kerman as the second significant city in the country from the astronomical perspective.

"Cities from Germany, the coasts of Chile, North America and Japan are among the most prominent areas across the globe known for possessing skies suitable for observing stars.
