Shoushtar’s Waterfalls, First Electric Power Plant of City

TEHRAN -- The first personal electric power plant of Shoushtar came into stream in 1933 in the historical region Shoushtar waterfalls, Khuzestan Province.

According to the Information Center of the Cultural Heritage Organization (CHO), Ali Namaki Shoushtari was the first who made and installed the power plant in the region in 1933. The plant used to provide the electricity of 4 districts of the city, but despite its efficiency, the plant was stopped in 1944 due to financial problems. The historical water establishments of Shoushtar date back to Achaemenid and Sassanid eras.
