The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. And so it is with the U.S.-Zionist plot to dominate Palestine.

Search as they may, U.S. and Zionist officials have been unable to find a Palestinian Authority (PA) prime minister who is willing to do their bidding and replace PA President Yasser Arafat as spokesman of the Palestinians. They are actually looking for someone willing to sell out his own people in a fake peace deal.

Mahmoud Abbas resigned as PA prime minister when he realized what was expected of him. Current Palestinian Prime Minister Ahmed Qorei has also expressed hesitation about remaining in the post.

The Camp David peace process went nowhere. The Oslo Accords, the Wye agreement, and the Mitchell plan similarly produced no results. U.S. and Zionist officials even once dragged out CIA Director George Tenet and sent him to Palestine, naming the plan after him. The Tenet plan was a failure, too. And now we have the road map, ironically named, since there doesn’t seem to be a road on which to travel at this point in time.

All these plans have had major sticking points that the Palestinians could never accept. Each plan requires “reasonable” Palestinians to accept the plan and to rein in all Palestinians who reject it. Each plan effectively requires “reasonable” Palestinians to sell out their own people and act as an arm of the Zionist security forces in cracking down on Palestinian resistance groups such as Islamic Jihad, Hamas, and the Al-Aqsa Brigades.

Palestinians who refuse to acquiesce are labeled obstructionists. In order to hammer home this point, the Westerners and the Zionists have been using their media propaganda machine in an attempt to sway world public opinion and convince people that the Palestinian resistance is an obstacle to peace. However, they have not been very successful lately.

The so-called peace plans also have other unacceptable points. They require the future Palestinian state to be demilitarized, that is, they forbid it from having an organized army. Also, large areas of the West Bank would be annexed by the Zionist regime. This is graphically illustrated by the apartheid wall currently being built in Palestine.

Worst of all, negotiations on the final status of Bait-ul-Moqaddas (Jerusalem) would be delayed indefinitely, as has been the case for over three decades now. Most Palestinians view Bait-ul-Moqaddas as the natural capital of a Palestinian state and will probably accept nothing less than being given East Bait-ul-Moqaddas as their future capital.

It seems that all of these peace plans have been nothing more than delaying tactics meant to postpone the inevitable, the establishment of a viable Palestinian state. The Zionists have not been negotiating in good faith.

Clearly, the Palestinians cannot be expected to agree to negotiations by diktat.

If any progress is to be made, the Zionists and their allies must change their approach, since it is highly unlikely that a Palestinian leader will be found who would be willing to sign away his people’s birthright.
