Two phases of Kazerun Power Plant operational

TEHRAN — The construction operations of the third phase of Kazerun Combined Cycle Power Plant was launched, Mohammad Haqiqat, the project commissioner of the power plant told IRNA on Wednesday.
He explained that the phase is aimed to install and commission three 480-MW gas units. Operating this phase will increase the total capacity of the power plant to 1,366 MW, he further said.
He added that the first unit of the third phase is to come on stream late March 2007.
Haqiqat explained that the first two phases of Kazerun power plant have already been commissioned, noting, the first and second phases included installing and operating two 250-MW gas units for the former and four 636-MW gas units for the latter.
Kazerun Combined Cycle Power Plant was set up in 1989, covering a land area as large as 94 ha.
