Iranian artists to visit Venice biennial

TEHRAN -- Iranian artists will visit the 52nd Venice International Art Exhibition, entitled “Think with the Senses -- Feel with the Mind, Art in the Present Tense” which commenced on June 10 and which will continue until November 21.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the group of artists will leave Iran for Vienna on September 17. Reza Bakhshi, Mohammadreza Imani, Nasser Arasteh, Ahmad Royaii and Mohammadreza Mohammadi will be accompanied on the trip by the deputy cultural minister’s advisor, Mahmud Shaluii. Due to financial problems, Iran decided not to participate in the event and the artists have not submitted any works. The Venice Biennial has for over a century been one of the most prestigious cultural events world-wide.
