TEHRAN -- Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) is the guardian of the Islamic Revolution, IRGC Commander Mohammad Ali Jafari said here on Saturday.

IRGC is not only a military organization, but a cultural and social body, the top commander stated at Imam Hussein University.
“Military training is a must for the guards, but it is not enough, because the true main mission of the IRGC is to protect the Islamic Revolution and its values,” he added.
Jafari also highlighted the need to be vigilant in the face of threats.
“Despite all the plots and threats by the enemy, our Islamic country is in peace and tranquility, and to maintain it the military, especially the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, must be prepared and vigilant,” he noted.
The true weapon of a guard is his faith, devotion, and revolutionary spirit, and without these the Islamic Republic can not be defended, the IRGC commander noted.
