TEHRAN (Press TV) -- Iran has rejected the reports that a U.S. ship had opened fire on an Iranian patrol boat in the Persian Gulf.

There has been no confrontation between Iranian boats and U.S. military vessels in the Persian Gulf, an IRGC (Islamic Revolution Guards Corps) official told Press TV Friday.
Citing an unnamed pentagon official, Reuters had earlier reported that an American vessel contracted by the U.S. Military Sealift Command had opened fired on an Iranian boat.
